The Alliance for National Transformation, in a statement by acting national coordinator Alice Alaso, condemned what it called state-sponsored violence in the dispersal of NUP candidate Robert Kyagulanyi's rallies in Lira, Kiruhira and Mbarara, according to The Observer. Alaso said women had been humiliated and undressed during arrests and urged the Electoral Commission to intervene.
