The Alliance for National Transformation issued a statement by its Acting National Coordinator Alice Alaso condemning what it described as police and security interference with NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi's rallies in Lira, Kiruhura and Mbarara. ANT alleged arrests of supporters, assaults on campaign staff and the undressing of women during arrest, and demanded the release of detained NUP campaign team members.
