Anti-Corruption Court convicts former minister Agnes Nandutu over diverted Karamoja iron sheets

The Anti-Corruption Court found former State Minister for Karamoja Affairs Agnes Nandutu guilty of knowingly receiving and keeping government iron sheets diverted from the Karamoja Community Empowerment Programme, the Daily Monitor reported. The court cancelled her bail and remanded her to Luzira Prison ahead of sentencing. Anti-corruption activists quoted in the article said other officials named in the scandal had not been prosecuted or had charges withdrawn.
