Armed men attack Kabula County MP Enos Asiimwe at hotel in Lyantonde Town; seven arrested

Armed men reportedly attacked Kabula County MP Enos Asiimwe in his room at Court Yard Hotel in Lyantonde Town on 15 March; an associate said a gunman posing as hotel staff tried to shoot him and he escaped through a window, sustaining injuries, according to the Daily Monitor. Southern Region police spokesperson Twaha Kasirye said seven suspects, including the hotel's security guard, were being held at Lyantonde Police Station. Police have not disclosed a motive.
