Attorney General directs prosecutors and police to halt cases under nullified Computer Misuse provisions

Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka wrote to the DPP, the CID and the Inspector General of Police instructing them to end criminal proceedings and stop arrests based on the provisions annulled by the Constitutional Court, according to the Daily Monitor. He advised against appealing the ruling, recommending that Parliament re-enact the law, and said people already convicted under the provisions would keep serving their sentences.
