Besigye collapses in court dock as High Court treason trial begins over his objections

Opposition politician Dr Kizza Besigye collapsed in the dock during proceedings before High Court judge Emmanuel Baguma, after objecting to the start of his treason trial on the grounds that he had been denied lawyers of his choice. According to the Daily Monitor, he was taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital. He is jointly charged with Hajj Obeid Lutale and UPDF officer Denis Oola with plotting to overthrow the government.
