Buhweju District interdicts two engineers over alleged misuse of road funds

According to URN in The Independent, Buhweju District interdicted its senior engineer and an assistant engineering officer through letters dated August 6, following a special audit of 2024/2025 road projects. Chief Administrative Officer Fred Kalyesubula alleges that one officer diverted a Shs30 million advance to another road and that the other completed only one of four kilometres of a road despite receiving Shs7 million. One officer confirmed receiving the letter but declined to comment; the other could not be reached.
