Bukono County MP Persis Namuganza announced in a public statement that she had withdrawn from the race for Speaker of the 12th Parliament, ChimpReports reported. She said she would support the candidates endorsed by the NRM, Jacob Oboth and Thomas Tayebwa, for Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
