Canada extends Ebola-related suspension of immigration documents for Uganda residents to 27 November

International Actions Verified Uganda (national) 28 Sep 2026 Severity: 2/5

Canada's immigration department announced a 60-day extension of Ebola-related travel restrictions covering residents of Uganda, Congo and South Sudan, citing the continuing outbreak in Congo, ChimpReports reports. Under the measure, people who listed one of these countries as their last residence cannot use their Canadian immigration documents to travel; tourism businessman Amos Wekesa criticised the decision.

A national event, not tied to one district.
