Chief Justice Zeija outlines court-annexed mediation reforms, including 60-day limit, in Kampala

Opening a Judicial Training Institute ADR training for Central Region lawyers at the Supreme Court Conference Hall, Chief Justice Flavian Zeija outlined reforms under the Judicature (Court Annexed Mediation) Rules, 2026, according to ChimpReports. These include a mandatory 60-day period for mediation, accreditation of mediators, settlements recorded as consent judgments and free court-annexed mediation; he also announced a Judiciary-wide Mediation Settlement Fortnight for 18 to 28 May 2026.
