Election Related Disputed Uganda (national) 28 Apr 2026 Severity: 1/5

Clerk to Parliament Adolf Mwesige replied in writing to Justice Minister Norbert Mao, a Speakership candidate, who had asked in a letter dated 27 April 2026 that the induction of new MPs be stopped until after the Speaker election. The Clerk wrote that no induction programme had been communicated and that, by practice, induction is held after the Speaker and Deputy Speaker are elected, according to the Daily Monitor.

A national event, not tied to one district.

Disputed: Mao said he had credible information that an induction before the Speaker election was being organised under Speaker Anita Among; the Clerk said no induction programme had been communicated.
