Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Botchwey begins three-day official visit to Uganda

According to the Daily Monitor, Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Botchwey was due to arrive in Uganda on 7 October 2026 for a three-day official visit ending 9 October, ahead of CHOGM in Antigua and Barbuda in November. The Commonwealth Secretariat said she was scheduled to hold talks with President Museveni and to meet government officials, parliamentary leaders, the judiciary, political parties and civil society.
