According to ChimpReports, a petition dated 29 May and signed by a group calling itself "Concerned Citizens of Uganda" asked Parliament's Appointments Committee to reject Dr Lawrence Muganga's nomination as Minister of State for Internal Affairs. The petitioners argue that dual citizenship laws bar him from office and repeat allegations by critic David Himbara of links to Rwandan intelligence; Muganga had not publicly responded to the petition.
