Constitutional Court dismisses former IGG Raphael Baku's petition against Judicial Service Commission

A five-justice Constitutional Court panel unanimously dismissed a petition by former Inspector General of Government Raphael Baku, who challenged the Judicial Service Commission's decisions not to shortlist him for High Court and Court of Appeal posts in 2017 and 2020. In the ruling written by Justice Margret Tibulya, the court held that the commission acted within its mandate in relying on information from the Uganda Law Council, which was then investigating a complaint against him, according to The Observer.
