COSASE rejects Microfinance Support Centre officials' answers to audit queries for lack of evidence

Parliament's COSASE committee, chaired by Muwada Nkunyingi, declined to accept verbal explanations from Microfinance Support Centre and Finance Ministry officials on Auditor General queries and asked for formal written responses with supporting evidence. According to the Daily Monitor, the queries include loan write-offs of Shs63.57 billion and a reported loss of Shs22.67 billion for the year to June 2025. The officials, who had earlier failed to honour a summons and faced arrest warrants, apologised, and the committee adjourned the hearing to the following week.
