Parliament's COSASE committee summoned Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited management over Auditor General findings including a Shs193.4 billion tax liability, a steep rise in trade receivables and procurement irregularities. According to the Daily Monitor, the committee sent the officials away after they failed to provide requested documents, and MPs questioned whether the acting managing director could serve as accounting officer. Committee chairperson Muwada Nkunyingi said the findings pointed to possible losses of public funds.
