Corruption & Abuse of Office Verified Uganda (national) 17 Aug 2026 Severity: 1/5

Parliament's COSASE committee adjourned its session with Uganda Human Rights Commission officials after, according to chairperson Muwada Nkunyingi, they failed to account for about Shs70.4 million that the Auditor General found was spent on unplanned furniture outside procurement rules. The committee directed the commission's former accounting officer, whom current officials hold responsible, to appear on 24 August 2026 to explain the expenditure.

A national event, not tied to one district.
