Deputy Speaker Tayebwa says government will write off Shs35b tea factory tax arrears

Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa said, while representing President Museveni at a burial in Bushenyi District, that more than Shs35 billion in tax arrears owed by tea factories would be written off when Parliament resumes from recess. He also said the government had earmarked Shs212 billion for investment in the tea industry, available only to factories shown to be efficiently managed, according to ChimpReports.
