Detained former Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago taken to hospital as bail hearing stalls

Lawyers for former Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago told the Daily Monitor that he had recently been rushed to hospital after his health worsened in custody, and that they had not managed to get a High Court date for his bail application. His lawyer Medard Lubega Sseggona said a scheduled session did not go ahead because the judge was called away. The Monitor said Uganda Prisons Service officials did not respond to requests for comment.
