Uganda Governance Monitor
The Independent, citing Uganda Radio Network, reports that a consultant team from WSP Italia representing EACOP's prospective lenders visited the Petroleum Authority of Uganda to review environmental, social and governance conditions attached to the pipeline's financing. A due diligence report seen by URN lists unresolved actions, including biodiversity measures at Kingfisher and road impacts on chimpanzee habitats in the Albertine Rift. PAU's Joseph Kobusheshe said the developers must implement the lenders' conditions.
