Justice & Court Rulings Single source Uganda (national) Nov 2020 (day not reported) Severity: 1/5

The East African Court of Justice dismissed with costs an application by the government of Rwanda seeking a five-judge bench to hear Ugandan lawyer Steven Kalali's case challenging Rwanda's closure of its border with Uganda. According to The Independent, the judges held that constituting a three- or five-judge bench is at the court's discretion and that reconstituting the bench late in the proceedings would delay justice.
