EC chairperson Byabakama tells aspirants to file nomination complaints with the Commission in writing, not the media

Electoral Commission chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama told reporters at the Commission's Kampala headquarters that aspirants and candidates with complaints about nominations should submit them to the EC in writing rather than raising them in the media. ChimpReports links the remarks to allegations by some opposition NUP aspirants that the EC refused to nominate them, which the paper says favoured NRM candidates. Byabakama also restated nomination rules for local government elections, including fees, symbol allocation and a limit of two vehicles per nomination convoy.
