EC says only three of 27 scrutinised presidential aspirants have met supporter requirements

Electoral Commission spokesperson Julius Mucunguzi said that of 38 presidential aspirants who had submitted supporter lists by 19 September, 27 had been scrutinised and only three, the NRM and FDC aspirants and independent Joseph Male Mabirizi, had fully met the legal requirements, The Observer reports. NUP's Robert Kyagulanyi and ANT's Mugisha Muntu were among those yet to meet the threshold ahead of nominations on 23 and 24 September.
