According to The Independent (URN), Frances Atima, the Ministry of Education and Sports' Chief Education Officer for standards and quality assurance, said schools running both a foreign and the Ugandan curriculum must hold separate registration and licensing and meet the requirements for each. She said the ministry plans a nationwide validation exercise before the end of the year to map international schools and act against those without licences or failing the standards, which were introduced in May 2026 (BRMS-IS).

A national event, not tied to one district.
