Electoral Commission clears ANT's Mugisha Muntu for presidential nomination after party officials wait at its offices

The Electoral Commission cleared Alliance for National Transformation flagbearer Maj Gen (rtd) Mugisha Muntu for nomination on the evening of 23 September, according to the Daily Monitor. This followed ANT officials and People's Front for Freedom allies staying at the commission's offices to ask why verification of his fresh signatures had been delayed; ANT national coordinator Alice Alaso announced the clearance in a statement.
