Electoral Commission rejects Kyagulanyi's allegation of duplicate entries in the voters register

Election Related Disputed Uganda (national) 28 Dec 2025 Severity: 1/5

In a statement, Electoral Commission chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama said voter location slips cited by NUP presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi as evidence of multiple registration belonged to two different people with similar names and dates of birth. The Commission also denied that it had failed to give candidates the final register, saying soft copies were issued after nominations in September 2025 and hard copies would follow before polling day.

A national event, not tied to one district.

Disputed: Kyagulanyi alleges the same person was registered at several polling stations, while the Electoral Commission says the two slips belong to two different voters.
