Electoral Commission releases National Voters' Register for 2026 General Elections

The Electoral Commission announced that the National Voters' Register for the 2026 General Elections is ready, listing 21,681,491 voters at 50,739 polling stations, and said soft copies had been issued to presidential candidates. The Commission said the photo-bearing register will be the sole basis for voting, so registered voters may vote without a National Identity Card. It also reported that dispatch of ballot boxes and other materials to districts had begun.
