Electoral Commission sets 4 February for local government polls where voting was not held or concluded

The Electoral Commission set 4 February 2026 as polling day for Local Government Council elections in electoral areas where voting had not been conducted or concluded, covering chairpersons, councillors and special interest group councillors. EC Chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama said polling would run from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and the Commission limited parties and independent candidates to two polling agents per polling station.
