Energy ministry seeks Parliament approval to write off Shs2.6bn mineral rent owed by Kilembe Mines

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development asked Parliament to write off Shs2.6 billion in unpaid annual mineral rents owed by the government-owned Kilembe Mines Limited as it winds up. Kassanda County North MP Patrick Nsamba Oshabe questioned the urgency of the write-off while the winding-up is ongoing.
