The Equal Opportunities Commission started inspecting 10 public universities, including Makerere, Kyambogo, Gulu and Busitema, to check compliance with equal opportunities laws, affirmative action and accessibility standards for persons with disabilities. According to the EOC's Principal Compliance Officer Moses Kalyango, the exercise looks at infrastructure, admissions, staff recruitment and support for disadvantaged students.
