Ex-ISO chief Kaka Bagyenda fails to appear for parliamentary vetting as ambassador to Angola

Former ISO Director General Kaka Bagyenda, named ambassador designate to Angola, did not appear before Parliament's Appointments Committee for vetting, The Independent reports; he reportedly sent word that he was unwell. MPs Luttamaguzi Semakula and Joseph Ssewungu said they had intended to question him over his earlier conduct as ISO head, including his failure to appear before Parliament's committee probing safe houses. The committee vetted Hassan Galiwango, ambassador designate to Kenya, the same day.
