Finance Minister tells Parliament committee UNBS must remit all non-tax revenue to Consolidated Fund

Finance Minister Henry Musasizi told Parliament's Committee on Tourism, Trade and Industry that the government had rejected a proposal for the Uganda National Bureau of Standards to retain and spend its non-tax revenue at source, citing the Public Finance Management Act. According to the Daily Monitor, he said the bureau's approved budget had grown from Shs65.04 billion in FY 2021/22 to Shs133.83 billion in FY 2025/26, and advised its management to seek funds through the normal budget process.
