Finance Ministry releases salary framework for staff of externally funded project units

The Independent reports that the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development has issued a 2026 salary and grading framework for staff in Project Implementation Units of donor-funded projects, covering 33 key roles. Permanent Secretary Ramathan Ggoobi said the structure draws on international practice, local pay benchmarks and fiscal considerations. According to the report, pay ranges from UGX 1.8 million for drivers to UGX 28 million for project managers, and the framework takes effect on 1 July 2026.
