Finance Ministry responds to leaked memo prioritising State House, Defence and Electoral Commission payments

A leaked internal Ministry of Finance memo directed that, for November–December 2020 cash flow, only payments to State House, the Ministry of Defence, the Electoral Commission, wages, pensions and statutory obligations be made, with other payments deferred. Ministry spokesperson Jim Mugunga told ChimpReports on Friday that the circular set priorities and did not mean the ministry had run out of money or would not honour its commitments.
