The Observer reports that former Mukono District Speaker Betty Hope Nakasi was arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit and remanded to prison until October 21. Prosecutors allege that on 30 June 2025 she and others sought Shs 2 million from a Buikwe District procurement officer in return for using her influence with the Mukono District Service Commission to secure him a promotion.
