According to ChimpReports, the General Court Martial chaired by Brig. Gen. Richard Tukacungurwa denied bail to former Chief of Military Intelligence Maj. Gen. James Birungi, who is charged with treachery, after he failed to produce sureties, and remanded him to Makindye Military Prison until 31 July. In the same proceedings Brig. Gen. James Ruhesi and Maj. Innocent Mugumya were granted bail while three other officers were remanded; journalists were barred from the courtroom.
