Government gazettes Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I as Omukama of Tooro despite succession dispute

The Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development published a notice in the Uganda Gazette formally recognising Edward Rukidi Nyabongo I as Omukama of Tooro, with effect from his coronation on September 29. According to the Daily Monitor, the notice was signed by Minister Henry Tumukunde on October 12 and does not address the validity of the late king's purported will, which the Queen Mother and Princess Ruth Komuntale had cited in challenging the Babiito clan's choice.
