Government intensifies Operation Barabara Salaama road safety crackdown on Kampala–Gulu Highway

Joint enforcement teams stepped up inspections of buses, trucks and other vehicles on the Kampala–Gulu Highway for mechanical faults, licensing and other violations, according to ChimpReports. Transport Regulation Commissioner Winstone Katushabe said police had been asked to charge drivers who overload passengers and that the operation would continue.
