Policy & Legislation Single source Uganda (national) 25 Oct 2026 Severity: 2/5

Health Minister Dr Chris Baryomunsi issued a statement restricting entry from the Democratic Republic of Congo to essential travellers such as humanitarian workers and truck drivers, and ordering returning Ugandans who travelled to the DRC into 21 days of quarantine at their own cost. According to ChimpReports, the measures also bar travellers with a DRC travel history from transiting through Uganda, including on chartered flights, and place contacts of confirmed Ebola patients on a no-fly list. The minister said the measures reaffirm May 2026 National Ebola Task Force resolutions and that violators could face prosecution.
