High Court dismisses Ayebare petition, upholds Kyarikunda as Mbarara District Woman MP

Justice Tom Chemutai of the High Court dismissed Margaret Ayebare's petition challenging Loydah Kyarikunda Twinomujuni's election as Mbarara District Woman MP on grounds of academic qualifications, ChimpReports reported. The judge ruled that qualification disputes are a pre-polling matter for the Electoral Commission, and also found that Kyarikunda held more than the minimum qualifications. Costs were awarded against the petitioner.
