High Court dismisses NUP challenge to withholding of party funding over IPOD membership

The Observer reports that Justice Collins Acellam dismissed NUP's application challenging a Justice Ministry directive withholding public funding from parties that did not join the Inter-Party Organisation for Dialogue. The judge held that the restriction flowed from the Political Parties and Organisations (Amendment) Act, 2025, not from an unlawful ministerial decision, and ordered each party to bear its own costs.
