High Court gives Kanyamunyu and co-accused until Monday to secure lawyers in Akena murder trial

At a hearing in the trial of Mathew Kanyamunyu and Cynthia Munwangari for the 2016 killing of Kenneth Akena, the accused told Justice Steven Mubiru their three lawyers had not met them or returned calls, according to NTV Uganda. The judge ruled that they had the weekend to instruct new lawyers, reach the previous ones or request a state-funded lawyer, and that the hearing would continue on Monday 9 November 2020.
