High Court International Crimes Division sentences ex-Guantanamo detainee Jamal Kiyemba to six years for soliciting ADF

Justice Susan Okalany of the International Crimes Division of the High Court sentenced Jamal Kiyemba to six years in prison for soliciting support for the ADF, after convicting him on 29 July, according to the Daily Monitor. The court acquitted him of belonging to a terrorist organisation and dismissed a charge of rendering support, and rejected his insanity defence. The charges arose from a January 2022 incident at the Old Taxi Park in Kampala, where a witness said he publicly urged support for the ADF.
