High Court orders six parties convicted in Katosi road scam to refund Shs 20bn to UNRA

The Observer reports that Justice Henry Peter Adonyo of the High Court Commercial Division found businessman Apollo Senkeeto, four other individuals and EUTAW Construction Company Incorporated liable for defrauding the Uganda National Roads Authority over the Mukono-Kyetume-Katosi road contract. The judge ordered them to refund the unused balance of the Shs 24.7 billion advance and to pay general and punitive damages plus costs, with interest, in a civil suit UNRA filed in 2016.
