Corruption & Abuse of Office Verified Uganda (national) 16 Mar 2026 Severity: 1/5

The Inspectorate of Government issued a directive giving 202 public officials until March 31, 2026 to report and reconcile balances owed to the State, according to the Daily Monitor, which saw the directive. The IGG said the balances arose from money allegedly used for personal gain and warned that those who do not comply may be charged with disobedience of lawful orders and abuse of office. Those listed reportedly include former Agriculture permanent secretary Pius Wakabi Kasaija, said to owe about Shs205 million.

A national event, not tied to one district.
