Inspectorate of Government inspects Busega-Mpigi Expressway and announces value-for-money audit

Inspector General of Government Justice Aisha Naluzze Batala inspected sections of the Busega-Mpigi Expressway with Ministry of Works officials and said the Inspectorate will carry out a value-for-money audit as part of a multi-agency probe into suspected irregularities. According to URN, her team saw limited visible progress, while the ministry said about 47 percent of works were done, a figure the IGG said engineers appointed by the Inspectorate would verify. Sources told URN that investigators from the Inspectorate, Police and State House have questioned ministry officials and former UNRA engineers.
