Insurance Regulatory Authority directs insurers to run workers' compensation awareness campaigns

According to URN, reporting in The Independent, the Insurance Regulatory Authority instructed non-life insurers to carry out compulsory awareness campaigns for policyholders on workers' compensation claims procedures. IRA Chief Executive Kaddunabbi Ibrahim Lubega said the directive followed a meeting with the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development that identified gaps in how claims are handled, which the IRA links to delays and a rise in disputes before the Medical Arbitration Board.
