Julia Muhumuza, a National Youth Council official and NRM member, announced she would contest as an independent for the National Female Youth MP seat, according to ChimpReports. Speaking on NBS TV, she said her independent run was not a rebellion against the NRM and that she had not taken part in the party primaries.
