According to ChimpReports, Justice Minister Norbert Mao signed a warrant of surrender dated 1 September directing the Commissioner General of Prisons to hand former military officer and diplomat Michael Katungi Mpeirwe to US representatives for trial in Virginia. Katungi faces US conspiracy charges linked to cocaine trafficking, firearms and alleged arms supply to Mexico's CJNG cartel; he has not been convicted. The warrant does not state when the handover will take place.
