Lands Minister Nabakooba announces presidential directive to issue leases to squatters on public land

Lands Minister Judith Nabakooba said President Museveni had directed the Ministry of Lands to issue leases to squatters on public land who apply, with boundary opening to begin, in a bid to reduce land conflicts and evictions. Speaking at an NRM function in Mityana District, she also warned landlords against evicting tenants without court orders or directives from RDCs, according to the Daily Monitor.
